Slowly but surely I am making my way through the Lords of the Underworld series. I honestly think this is the best one yet.
Kaia is a fierce Harpy but she made one mistake half a millennia ago and got stuck with the name “Kaia the Disappointment”. Now her clan has finally been invited back to the harpy games but not is all as it seems. Every harpy there is out to get her. Can she watch her back and pursue her consort at the same time?
Strider is the keeper of Defeat and suffers terrible pain when he loses. So he makes sure he never loses. But with Kaia he is constantly on edge that she will win against him. When she goes to the harpy games he goes along as her consort. But when the pairing rod is the first prize everything becomes more difficult.
So this series has totally wormed its way into my heart. It is that great. And since I listened to the audio as well I gotta say the Max Bellmore is top notch. I love the way he narrates both the male and female voices in such distinctive ways. Give this series a shot. It won’t disappoint.
