Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves by Kym Grosso

The third book in the Immortals of New Orleans series was just as great as I wanted it to be. I honestly had a little bit of fear that the series would fizzle out since the first book wasn’t that great for me but this one just continued into the fulfilling world that Kym Grosso created. In this one we get a look at the wolf packs rather than the vampires of New Orleans. So the story takes us to Pennsylvania and the story of Tristan is revealed. We met Tristan in the first book because he was Sydney’s lover. But after Sydney marries Kade is when this book takes place.

Tristan’s club was burnt down at the end of the second book and at the beginning of this novel we see the opening of his new club for supernaturals and humans alike. The only hint he has of who burnt down his club is the blood of a human that doesn’t smell quite right. When Leopold (Kade’s creator) knows where to find this person Tristan goes after her. As the alpha wolf of his pack he is responsible for everyone and has been told he needs a mate but has never felt the mate attraction. However, when he meets the owner of the blood in his club he cannot understand his instant attraction to her. He would never mate a human but maybe she isn’t as human as she seems.

Kalli is a veterinarian and has worked hard in her chosen profession. Not only has she worked hard in her field but she has also worked terribly hard to hide herself as a wolf. Because she is a hybrid, she went so far as to create a drug that would hide her as a wolf from all supernaturals. But when her old pack is after her, she must trust the alpha of Lyceum wolves to keep her safe. Especially when her drug is being used as a weapon against other wolves.

This book went even quicker than the last one. Again, I listened to the audio of this one solely rather than listening and reading the book. So it still took sometime to finish but it was worth every minute. Ryan West really brings the characters alive for the reader and helps illustrate Kym Grosso’s world for those who choose not to physically read the novel. Definitely worth a shot. I know I will be continuing the series and with several books I hope that it will stay as good as it begins.
