This novel is the second and final book in the Stars Duet by Amie Knight. This one occurs 10 years after the end of the first one and we get to see how life changed Liv and Adam. If you recall Adam was sent to prison at the end of the first novel and Liv was sent off to boarding school. Well, for this one to take place 10 years later a lot has changed in their personalities and I think it worked out really well. The novel definitely brought tears to my eyes in some places and made me laugh in others. This was a great wrap up. I should mention though that I got an ARC of this novel for an honest review and I hope that you loved it as much as I have.
Adam is finally returning home after 10 years away. Only now he is a successful business man and has purchased a house on the island as well as the planetarium. He knows that Liv is there but he can’t get over that she never came after him once in 10 years. He thought that what they had was meaningful and he never stopped thinking about her. Of course, he never contacted her either because he wanted to be worthy of her now that they are adults. When he finally sees her again it isn’t anything like he expected it. He didn’t expect the hurt and the anger or the awkwardness that was never between them before. But he knows he needs to make things right. Can he get the girl back and still accomplish what he really returned for?
Liv cannot believe that Adam Nova is going to be her new boss. She hasn’t spoken to him in 10 years but that’s because he didn’t want to see her. But now he won’t leave her alone. He does everything he can to be alone with her but she knows that he is holding back. She has given him everything from the moment they met and he still can’t trust her with his secrets. That is no way to have a relationship and she is done.
This book was kind of a rollercoaster for me. Especially with it being so short and such a quick read it was a very loopy coaster. I really did love this book and I love how things eventually work out in the end because it’s a romance and it needs an HEA but they worked for it. Damn did they ever. The feels were out strong and the level of writing was superb. It takes a lot to really get a reader emotionally involved and this one succeeded. I would read the Stars Duet again in a heart beat if I had time. But you do! So go check them both out. They’re free on Kindle Unlimited!!
