I’m finally writing this blog review after finally reading this book and I seriously need more of the Club Altura series. I can’t believe that this is the last book that is out thus far. I need more! But I’m glad that I finally got to read this novel. It is available on Kindle Unlimited like most of Kym Grosso’s novels but I would have read it no matter what. Though I did hope that it would have been in audiobook because I’ve listened to all of her books but alas that was a no go. Anyway this book was so good and needs some sequels. Do you hear me?!?! Sequels!
Lars can’t seem to stop thinking about that day at the beach when he stopped a murder. Only Dr. Braelynn Rollins doesn’t seem to be in the least thankful for his services. Even when he stayed with her in the hospital. He wishes he could just let it all go like everyone has been telling him to do but for the life of him he cannot get her out of his mind. So when he finally tracks her down at a party only to have her attempt to break into his house that same night he knows that there is more to her story than she is letting on. All he wants to do is help her but to do that she needs to trust him and tell him everything. Only that doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.
Brae doesn’t know what to do anymore. She was almost killed by her uncle’s goons and she is wrapped up in corporate espionage. Not something that she is qualified for at all but Garrett Emerson is convinced that she stole their prototype and even though she didn’t they have blackmailed her into getting it back from her uncle’s company. She was so close until the fateful day at the beach and Lars. She has had a crush on him from afar forever and though he didn’t know she existed previously she doesn’t let that affect her. But now he won’t leave her alone and she can’t entangle him more in the mess she is in. He just doesn’t understand her need to protect him.
I loved the dynamic between Lars and Brae so much. But I honestly got very pissed at Garrett and everything they were putting Brae through. Yes, if you didn’t already know I am one of those readers. The one that gets angry on the hero or heroine’s behalf. Just the fact that no one did due diligence and blamed her right away made me mad. And then the angsty feelings and the yo-yo feelings that Lars was making her go through. Don’t get me started. Anyway, though this novel took awhile for me to get to I absolutely loved it and the epilogue had a cliffhanger that still makes me beg for more. So one more time. I need Seth’s story!!! Until next time gang!
