Hitching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a second generation Bishop book considering we just finished the original books not that long ago. But it was actually much better than I thought it was going to be. The authors stayed away from things that could really put a date on the books and therefore making it futuristic. Which is not what we want from a cowboy romance. But after reading the ARC of this novel I’m really glad that I chose to sign up for it. It is a worth your time read.

Riley and his best friend Diesel head from the Bishop ranch in Texas for a weekend of fun and no worries in Las Vegas. Diesel is going to celebrate his birthday and Riley is going to help him. So when Riley dares Diesel to do an amateur strip show he knows that a return dare is coming. What he doesn’t expect is that return dare coming so soon. That dare comes after meeting the lovely Zoey from Phoenix and they are dared to get married in Vegas. So they do it. Only the next morning there isn’t any time to talk about this life altering decision before their flight leaves. When Zoey shows up at the ranch a month later (after the annulment papers are signed) and wants to see if something is actually between them Riley is all for it. He knows that this woman is the one for him and he will spend as much time as possible convincing her of this fact. Will it be enough though?

Zoey can’t believe she married someone on a dare in Vegas of all places. But being with Riley from Texas felt right. Now they are in a marriage that neither of them planned and the only thing she can think of doing is making it right and getting an annulment. But that doesn’t sit well with her. The chemistry between them is instant and insane and it leaves her with only one option. Go to Texas and test things out with Riley. When she gets to the Circle B ranch and the B&B she doesn’t know what to expect but Riley welcoming her with a grin and a kiss certainly wasn’t it. Now she has a couple of weeks to see if they can make a marriage work. If they can how is she going to break it to her family?

This book definitely didn’t lack in the sweet moments but it totally had drama as well as comedy. Diesel was hilarious and I can’t wait for his and Rowan’s book. But there was a climax that I definitely didn’t see coming and that was kind of a nice change. I can usually call these things. I don’t want to spoil it so I won’t write anymore about that. Just know that you are going to be devouring this book and waiting for more.

—“Riley’s touch and kisses are what strawberry Starbursts are made of–so damn addicting–and you know if you don’t stop, you’ll end up devouring the entire bag of candy.” -Zoey—
