Darkest Sinner by Rachel Van Dyken

Published: September 24, 2019

This is book five in the Dark Ones Saga and though I haven’t read any of the other four books I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It reads very well as a stand along novel though knowing the back story from the other books would just add a richer element to it. I mean I am definitely planning on reading the other four now but until that time I have other books to read. Including other books by Rachel. I did receive a copy of this book for an honest review which was so awesome of Rachel and her team!

Timber has lived his extremely long life being the Demon King but before that he doesn’t remember much. Because he wanted to feel he has a borrowed soul and now that his original soul has been restored he is having a battle within himself that has now shown up in a tattoo on his palm that seems to be growing. When he meets his new bartender Kyra he can taste colors and see sunshine when she touches him. And the freaking tattoo grows whenever she touches him. But he can’t seem to stay away from her even though it would be better for her.

Kyra needed the job at Soul because her parents decided that they were going to move yet again and she didn’t want to go with. Something was pulling her to that bar so when she meets her new boss and he instantly doesn’t like her she doesn’t know why. Only she can’t seem to get him out of her mind. So when he walks her home she is weirded out only to find her apartment broken in to by men with red glowing eyes. Needless to say she is freaked out. She is about to find out more about herself and her family than she ever expected. Hell, she is going to find out more about the world than she expect.

Like I said I really enjoyed this book. Especially after Kyra decides to stop fighting her attraction to Timber and then she discovers who she really is and who Timber really is. I do think that Timber is one of those characters that you really want to have his own book as you are reading the others so I hope that is the case when I read the previous book. I am definitely a fan of this series and can’t wait to see what Rachel has in store for us next!

—“‘Riiiight,’ Alex piped up. ‘Because you destroyed both gardens with your massive body falling onto the grass, so no wine for you, no wine for you ever. If there is ever a family dinner with wine, you get water.'” -Alex to Timber—
