I’ve been wanting to continue the backlist for Emma Hart for awhile but had never really found the time to do it. So I just decided to start with The By His Game Series because I purchased it for my library and didn’t have to buy them. Which always makes me happy. Though this book is definitely different than the ones she is putting out today it was no less good. I will say it took me a bit to get into the book. But it was worth the initial struggle.
As the first book you have to wade through learning the characters. This one is Leah Veronica and Corey Jackson’s book. Leah is the only daughter of Hollywood’s sweetheart, Grace Veronica. And Corey is the current quarter back of the LA Vipers and is the son of the best quarterback they’ve ever had. Leah tries to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible and the spotlight is drawn to Corey. So when he decides to pursue the one girl who didn’t fall at his feet he doesn’t know what to expect. Their story is filled with ups and downs and threats to Corey’s manhood (which he totally deserved). By the end of this book I definitely didn’t want to wait to pick up the second book so I can see how the next football player falls.
