Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole

Published: February 15, 2011

This is my most recent reread in the Immortals After Dark series. As those of you who have read it know, Lothaire is the next book and it’s kinda long. So don’t look for another review for this series for a bit. I’m listening to the series so I don’t get a lot of time to do that but that’s not the point of this post. This book is Regin the Radiant’s book and Declan Chase who is actually a reincarnated berserker. Regin is probably the most hilarious Valkyrie but also the one I was the most ambivalent about. Probably because she didn’t take anything seriously. But we got to see whole new layers to her and how fiercely loyal she is to not just her sisters. I also couldn’t help be feel bad for Declan. He was dealt a raw hand by fate so people can’t exactly expect him to be normal. I do think he’s one of my favorites though because he changes so drastically. He is the embodiment of enemies to lovers! It also helps that he’s Irish and I’m just as much a sucker for an Irishman as I am a Scotsman.

This is a pivotal book in the series. In it we meet Thad who will become an important character later and we learn about the Dark Fey. Also, important information. Then we learn about who is in charge of the Order and he’ll come into play soon as well. Not only that but we start to see the threads being interwoven between the Vertas army and the out layers who could go either way. This is important information for the next few books because the Accession is in full swing now and the battles are only just starting to heat up. You will learn more about Lothaire in this book as well in order to prepare you for his book which is next. You will love to hate Declan and then just when you hate him you will love him. So make sure that you grab this one!
