The Little Morgen by Miranda Grant

Published: January 15, 2021

This book was so good. Not as good as the first book in the series but it was such a good retelling of the classic Little Mermaid tale. It was different than the original story but just as dark. Talliyah was so excited to finally go to land with her twin sister which was a right of passage for both of them that on that momentous day they didn’t think anything could go wrong. Until a net comes down on her sister and starts to drag her to the surface. Which is why her pain calls out to the goddess Freya who grants her with the ability to take out men on the sea like the ones who killed her family as long as she never gave her heart away. That was easy until she met Ragnar who is out to kill her so he can bring his son back from the underworld.

The journey that Ragnar takes is really interesting as are the twists to the classic Little Mermaid tale. Though this book didn’t give me a book hangover I still really enjoyed it and thought it is worth the read. It also sets up perfectly for the next book and it left me with questions that I need answers to! I also see a crossover of characters sometime because Delentia keeps showing up in both of Miranda Grant’s series and it only makes sense. Maybe in the final battle against Sebastian? Who knows. Either way this is a book that you need to read!! I can’t wait for the next one which is a Beauty and the Beast tale but with a huge twist!!
