This was one of the books in the free Christmas anthology Tis the Season for Romance. It was a surprise book because the author did not tell anyone that it was coming. This one takes place towards the end of the last book Code Name: Rook and instead of dealing with the alpha males in Jameson Force this is a short novella about their resident psychologist, Corinne. Corinne has had to get through the murder of her parents and the ensuing trial of the man who did it. But during that time the FBI agent Clay was right next to her. Until she makes a move on him because she had fallen in love and he rejects her. Now it’s 10ish years later and Clay sees her at the Jameson Force headquarters and knows he cannot just not go in and see her.
Well because of this meeting Corinne decides that they need to clear the air and since she knows Clay she tricks him into having Christmas Eve with her. Which then turns into Christmas Day and he cannot get home due to a snow storm. This then forces Clay to talk to Corinne about the past and for him to realize that Corinne’s feelings are real and that they weren’t just gratitude over him catching her parents’ killer. I loved this little novella and that Sawyer made sure to include the non-mission member of Jameson. I highly recommend grabbing this one before the next Jameson book comes out. You won’t regret it!
