Wylde is the newest book from the Arizona Vengeance series and it was so good. The meet cute in this book was literally everything. It blew away perceptions and it also showed that even women who are not looking for attention get it. Aaron was on a run, took another route, and then found himself entranced with a woman in a bookshop of all places. He knew he needed to talk to her but didn’t know how to go about it so he made up an excuse. This then lead to him kind of hustling her into a date. To be fair she assumed he wasn’t well read and challenged him. She assumed in correctly. And as much as I love the Clarke is a bookworm and bookstore owner, who can quote random works of literature off the top of their head? That was super impressive and I even guessed both correctly! It probably helped that both books were ones I enjoyed in high school. Anyway this was the beginning of the end for Clarke and she just didn’t know it.
I found Clarke’s character to be really relatable and I think that many bookworms will feel the same. She had a lot of insecurities (for good reasons) but she didn’t let them totally control her life. That is what’s is always great to read about is how the heroine has overcome her insecurities to be with the man that she believes is way out of her league. But Aaron was also a great character. He didn’t give up on what he wanted and that definitely put him ahead. This book was also different in the fact that it took place during the off season right after they won the cup. So it was wedding time for everyone including Bishop. I like to think of this book as a transition book. We are transitioning from the original first line and their friendships to the next line and the friendships that bond them. I can’t wait to see where this storyline goes.
