When Sparks Fly by Helena Hunting

Published: September 21, 2021

This book was so cute. I really enjoy a best friend to lovers story and this one was one of the best because there weren’t any suppressed feelings between them it was more of a revelation that they liked each other more than just as best friends. The fact that they knew more about each other than anyone else definitely helped the blossoming relationship but they still needed to learn how to communicate their feelings. Especially considering that Declan blamed himself for Avery’s accident. He decided to become the care taker for her when she couldn’t take care of himself and forced proximity made him realize that he wanted more with her. However, when they left their bubble then life interfered and they really needed to learn how to be together.

I really liked that everything wasn’t just coming up roses when Avery went back to work. They both had to figure out how to be a couple but because the outside world was now a part of them the fears that plague untested relationships showed up and caused problems. Of course, there was an HEA at the end but the journey to get there was so great. The couple was funny together and Avery’s sisters were hilarious. I’m so looking forward to the next two books because each Spark sister totally deserves an HEA.
